The LICS Young Voices was founded in 2009 by Meredith Elaine Baker under the auspices of the Long Island Choral Society and is managed and operated by its board members.

We at the Long Island Choral Society are very excited about the upcoming 2010 season of the LICS Young Voices starting in September 2010.

Auditions

Auditions will be announced during the summer of 2010.

Membership

Rehearsals will be held on Sunday evenings (excluding holidays) from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockville Centre. The annual membership fee of $80 helps to defray operating costs and includes two (2) tickets to each concert. Additional expenses include a one-time purchase of the concert “uniform” at approximately $40 and the purchase of vocal scores ranging from $20 - $30 for the season.

This is a wonderful opportunity for young people to develop a richer experience in ensemble singing and musicianship beyond the school setting. During concerts, they will enjoy singing along side professional soloists and feel the excitement that a full orchestra generates in an acoustically magnificent space. Focus will not only be on repertoire, but on the learning of theory and sight singing.
