This year the Long Choral Society is celebrating its 80th Anniversary!
The Long Island Choral Society is proud of its unique existence as the oldest continuously performing musical group on Long Island. We perform four major concerts each year, and often perform at public venues and special venues, like Carneigie Hall and Saint Patrick’s Cathedral.
To celebrate, our 80th year, we have selected some exciting, popular, and challenging pieces, which should appeal everyone.
We are also planning special summer events including two open Summer Sing-Alongs Carmina Burana and Verdi Requim, and an August LobsterFest Benefit Gourmet BBQ.
Watch our website for the dates and location.
The Long Island Choral Society has a goal to bring people and music together in the community. We have a reputation for performing the finest works of choral music at the highest caliber. Our all volunteer choir is made up of singers from all over the Long Island and NYC metropolitan area. We hire local musicians for our concerts, and offer an annual scholarship competition to high school age musicians.
